Greendale Township is 36 square miles situated at the beginning of the third row of Midland County abutting Chippewa Township, Isabella County.

It has a population of 1751 at the most recent census, 879 males and 872 females.

There are 712 housing units in the township with approximately 646 occupied, of these 580 are owner occupied

Bullock Creek and Coleman Schools participate with the Midland County RESD and Breckenridge; Shepherd and St Louis participate with the Gratiot-Isabella RESD. Greendale Township also supports millage for Delta College.
